The Rock and Roll King was born on January 8, 1935, and would have recently turned 89 were he alive today. In honor of Elvis Presley, a custom whiskey has been crafted with inspiration from his bizarre late-night snacking.
Last year, a Charleston, S.C.-based spirits company — Grain & Barrel Spirits — launched “Midnight Snack,” whose flavors tell of the late icon’s favorite peanut butter-banana-bacon sandwich. To create this fun-spirited alcohol, the company layers a base of Tennessee whiskey with artificial peanut butter, banana, and bacon flavors.

Elvis’ famous residence while he was alive, Graceland, has become a tourist attraction since his passing, attracting troops of fans and curious people from far and wide. According to the Grain & Barrel Spirits brand ambassador, Will Woodington, the Presley estate came up with the idea of Elvis-themed rye and Tennessee whiskeys years ago.

The plan was to make the creation exclusive to the estate; however, demand made it available in retail and birthed subsequent flavor ideas. “We figured that if we could execute this combination in a flavored whiskey form that, we’d have one of the most delicious and unique products in the market,” Will said.
What’s in it?
The brand ambassador says the whiskey’s banana flavor is most common and likens it to banana taffy with a hint of bacon and peanut butter. It will likely be sweeter, as the legend’s famous sandwich boasts a tasty sweet-and-salty-and-creamy combo perfect for a sweet tooth.
While you can enjoy it with ice, the company advises consumers to try it in an old-fashioned cocktail. Reports say that flavored whiskey is fast becoming a staple, with global sales projected to rise from $27.9 billion in 2022 to $47.1 billion in 2030 — “Midnight Snack” might dominate the category thanks to its unique composition!
