There are a good number of doppelganger pairs in Hollywood, like Heath Ledger and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who share an uncanny resemblance. Katy Perry and Zooey Deschanel also share very similar facial features and could pass for twin sisters.
Bill Murray and Tom Hanks were the pair that got attention for looking alike lately. Interestingly, Murray turned down the leading part in Tom’s Forrest Gump and Philadelphia. Fans on Facebook were initially skeptical about whether it was Tom or Bill in an old photo.
Right or wrong?
The comments section of the Facebook post by DiMichele-Ross was filled with users— both confident and otherwise trying to determine who it was. “Not wrinkly enough to be Bill Murray,” someone said. “It looks like a golf course, so I would say Bill Murray,” another added.

A fan named Rachel Silberman said she “thought that was Tom Hanks at first,” while Amy Young said she “swears that is Tom Hanks.” One cannot blame the viewers because the man’s expression reminds fans of Tom’s look at the end of Cast Away when Wilson the volleyball floated off.
It was Murray
The actor in the photo was, in fact, Murray, who was right behind the crying baby. “He met Bill Murray. Submitted by: Laura R. Location: St. Andrew’s, Scotland,” the poster captioned the picture for her social media blog, “Reasons Why My Son Is Crying.”
The snap was uploaded in 2013 but resurfaced in October 2016 on the Today Show website. DiMichele-Ross reconfirmed it was Murray because she was present when the shot was taken. “I can vouch ’cause I’m the one in the photo with the massive grin thinking, ‘Oh my god, this is going to be an awesome photo!'” she noted.
