Goldie Hawn looked laid-back and chic in a black jacket and olive-colored khaki pants as she strolled in Los Angeles last Tuesday. The 78-year-old actress wore a small leather bag around her waist and let her glossy blonde hair down as she showed off her youthful stride.
She accessorized with a purple gemstone necklace and silver rings, complementing her dark red nail polish. Goldie kept her makeup simple and got extra comfy in a pair of black trainers. She appeared to be by herself as neither her longtime boyfriend Kurt Russell nor anyone else was around her.
Goldie retired from acting in the early 2000s, and according to a recent interview with Variety, she did so out of concern for young ones affected by the 9/11 attack. “I’d been making a lot of movies for a long time. And when 9/11 happened, the world turned upside down. It shook me to the core, and I said, ‘Am I going to make movies, or am I going to do something?'” she said.
Although she returned to the big screen a couple of more times, Goldie focused on her nonprofit program called MindUP to help kids manage stress as her own way of responding to the 2001 attack. She last appeared on screen in the 2020 sequel to Netflix’s The Christmas Chronicles, co-starring with Kurt as Mrs. Claus.
For Goldie, aging well begins with accepting it as a fact of life. “By living mindfully you understand that there are many transitions in life. You just go through them,” she said. She goes for simple, easy-step skincare involving a few creams and her hands. “I wash my face every night, and I massage it for about 3 minutes, and then I put creams on my face, and I go to sleep. And then I wake up in the morning and do the same thing!” the mother of three explained.
She also enjoys yoga, which may involve a trampoline and wine bottles as dumbbell alternatives. Goldie shared her routine in an Instagram video last year, demonstrating her rather bizarre workout style. She noted that jumping is “great for your lymphatic system” as she showed how to bounce and hop on the equipment. She did overhead presses and lateral raises with the bottles before heading outside for a walk. “Take a deep breath, and thank yourself for taking time for you today,” she said at the end.
