Bruce Willis’ family is making extra effort to spend quality time with the actor due to the state of his health. During Thanksgiving, his daughter Scout LaRue shared a touching clip of Bruce looking confused while she took his hand, proving his condition was not improving.
An insider revealed that things have recently been worse for Bruce and his family, who are unsure how much time he has left. “Bruce has good days and bad days, but in the last two months, there are many more bad days than good,” the insider told US Weekly.
Since Willis’ diagnosis, his family, including wife, Emma Hemming, ex-wife Demi Moore, and their daughters, have been around more often and become closer than ever. “This experience has brought the whole family even closer together. No one knows how much time Bruce has left, so they’re soaking up every moment they get with him,” the source explained, with another confirming, “They’re there all the time.”
He always has at least one family member with him and round-the-clock care. “Once Bruce was diagnosed, everyone came together to keep his memory of the family intact and to be there as a constant reminder that they love him,” the source added. “Everything revolves around him.”
Bruce’s family has done a great job of handling information about him — including the announcement of his diagnosis and ensuing updates. His wife of 14 years has used the opportunity to educate the public about Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD) and provide comfort for primary caregivers like herself.
Emma revealed she was initially reluctant to go public about her husband’s health; however, she felt relieved after doing so. “After our family shared the news, I felt like I could breathe. Suddenly, I wasn’t alone anymore, and I could seek the support Bruce, myself, and our family so desperately needed,” she said.
