Several months after Lisa Marie Presley’s death in January, her half-brother Navarone Garibaldi took to social media to comment about the singer’s absence and their relationship while she was alive. Navarone told viewers via Instagram Live that Lisa Marie was not kind to him and would say “awful things” to him.
The 36-year-old shared that he does not miss the “Dirty Laundry” singer while receiving rebuke from a few followers for “trash-talking” the deceased. “You’re entitled to your opinion,” he admitted. “I’m sure she was good to some. I’m not gonna lie and say I miss her, but I’ll say it’s strange.”
Lisa Marie allegedly behaved badly to Navarone
Navarone, who is a musician, said his relationship with Lisa Marie was strained because she would “decide to go off and tell you everything that’s wrong with you and your life” after drinking alcohol. “It was pretty destructful,” he explained. “I never got angry like that, I never said anything I didn’t mean when I smoked pot, but she would say really awful things to me that kind of kept us from being close.”

He also clapped back at fans who tried to shut him down, noting that “all I did was speak the truth” about his late step-sister. “I didn’t talk trash…sometimes I get egged on when people ask me questions and I just blurt out the first thing that comes to my mind,” Navarone continued. “It’s not like I plan on it, I just can’t help myself.”
He paid tribute to his late half-sister
Shortly after Lisa Marie died from a small bowel obstruction following bariatric surgery at 54, Navarone released a heartfelt post as a tribute. “Big sister… I hope you are now at peace and happy with your dad and your son by your side,” he wrote, referencing Lisa Marie’s late father, Elvis Presley, and her son, Benjamin Keough, who died by suicide in 2020.
He also wished things were “different” between them, possibly implying their tumultuous relationship. “I know the past couple years weren’t easy for you…you are my sister and I’m sending love and prayers for your journey home,” the caption read. “I still can’t believe this, I’m lost for words. Love you sis. Beijos.”
