Ray Romano started a career in the entertainment industry in the late ’80s when he delved into stand-up comedy, showcasing a distinctive style marked by observational humor and relatable anecdotes. Romano’s breakthrough arrived with the inception of his sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond in 1996, a series loosely modeled after his own experiences.
Despite his celebrity status, the comedian is keen on maintaining a private profile, safeguarding the sanctity of his family life away from the public eye. The 65-year-old is happily married to Anna Scarpulla and is blessed with four children: Alexandra, Matthew, Gregory, and Joseph. Meet Ray Romano’s four children.

Ray and his wife, Anna, embraced parenthood with the arrival of their first child, Alexandra, born on March 22, 1990. During a segment on the Today show, the actor openly shared his initial apprehension and nervousness surrounding the birth of their firstborn. “I went to pick them up, my wife and child, and [with my] newborn baby in my arms, [I] go outside [and say], ‘Where’s my minivan?’ I parked in a tow-away zone, so we had to go to Queens in a yellow cab,” Ray stated. “My daughter came home in a yellow cab.

Alexandra is currently engaged, and her father couldn’t be more proud about it, as he revealed while promoting his latest project, Somewhere in Queens, during an April appearance on Live with Kelly and Mark! “So much is happening this week,” he admitted. “And then, on top of that, my daughter sends me a picture of her with a ring, and my wife and I go nuts.”
Gregory Romano and Matthew Romano
The comedian’s twins, Gregory and Matthew, entered the world on January 13, 1993. Ray shared with People magazine that he was eagerly anticipating a son when his wife conveyed the joyous news of her pregnancy. “Anna called me after a sonogram,” he reminisced, “and said, ‘Well, we’re having twins.’ I was like, ‘Come on!’ She said, ‘Yes. Twin girls.’ I tried to sound happy, going, ‘Oh. Good. Good.’ Finally she told me, ‘They’re boys, you jerk!’ That’s when I knew I loved her.”
Gregory and Matthew are both in the entertainment industry, but prefer to work behind the camera as production assistants on The Late Late Show With James Corden and Jimmy Kimmel Live! Ray disclosed in an interview with Ellen DeGeneres in 2019 that he messes with his children anytime he comes on their shows. “Every time I do Kimmel or Corden, I have to come up with a bit with them now,” Romano said to the host. “They’re single, so on Kimmel, I tried to get them a date, when I went on Corden, they had a girl come out of the audience and have a date right there.”
Joseph Romano
Joseph “Joe” Romano is the youngest of Romano and Anna’s children and was born on February 16, 1998. The actor shared in an interview with Ellen DeGeneres that Joe is the one who takes after his comedic nature. “I can’t tell if he’s the stupidest kid or maybe even the deepest because he says things that just — I don’t know how to react to them,” Romano confessed.
Also, in describing his fourth child while on The Tonight Show in 2017, Romano explained to host Jimmy Fallon that Joe is out of this world. “I never knew what this phrase meant, but I think it applies to him,” he detailed. “He thinks he’s the s—.”
