Ozzy Osbourne Admits He Has ‘At Least’ Ten Years Left To Live

Ozzy Osbourne got candid about his health and the prospect of death in a recent interview with Rolling Stone UK. The self-acclaimed Prince of Darkness admitted that he was not scared of death and was expected to be long gone due to his substance abuse history. “Why am I the last man standing?” he asked.

The rock legend noted that he had ten years left at best and does not look forward to dealing with a potentially terminal disease. “When you’re older, time picks up speed,” he added. “Me and Sharon had our 41st wedding anniversary recently, and that’s just unbelievable to me!”

Ozzy has suffered a series of health challenges since the early 2000s after an ATV accident that damaged his back and neck. The singer underwent more than three surgeries after a fall in 2019 and revealed his battle with Parkinson’s disease in 2020. “Sometimes I look in the mirror and go, ‘Why the f— did you make it?!’ I’m not boasting about any of it because I should have been dead a thousand times,” he said.

In February, the “Crazy Train” singer canceled his performances and officially quit touring due to a spinal injury, although he later expressed his desire to get back on the road. “At the start of my illness, when I stopped touring, I was really pissed off with myself, the doctors and the world. But as time has gone on, I’ve just gone, ‘Well, maybe I’ve just got to accept that fact,’” Ozzy said, recounting “one of the hardest things” he has had to share with expectant fans.

Ozzy may opt for euthanasia

Ozzy plans to be euthanized should he suffer an incurable illness rather than have a long, painful, and miserable existence. “I like the idea that if you have a terminal illness, you can go to a place in Switzerland and get it done quickly,” he said, concurring with a similar conversation with his wife and children on their family podcast.

The 74-year-old wishes to “say goodbye and thank you” to his fans on the road and possibly do one show where he can express his gratitude to them. “It’s my extended family, really, and they give us the lifestyle we have. For whatever reason, that’s my goal to work to. To do those shows,” he added. “That’s what I’m working towards, and if I drop down dead at the end of it, I’ll die a happy man.”
