Tom Cruise Looks ‘Out Of Control’ In New Photo While Filming ‘Mission Impossible 8’

Tom Cruise was seen leaving the London heliport recently after filming Mission Impossible 8. The Top Gun actor sported a gray cable knit jumper and jeans and wore his hair in a different long style. He struggled to keep his long hair in place as it flowed in the wind while he joked with staff about needing to tie it up.

Weeks after the SAG-AFTRA strike was called off, Tom flew into London to resume working on the eighth installment of the popular franchise originally scheduled for release in June 2024. Tom will reprise his role as superspy Ethan Hunt and perform his own stunts in the upcoming Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two.

Till he drops

Despite playing the franchise’s protagonist character for over two decades, Tom intends to make more Mission: Impossible movies well into his 80s. His drive is inspired by the Indiana Jones star, Harrison Ford, who led the last release— Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, 42 years after starring as the title character in Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Tom called Ford a “legend” at the Australian premiere of Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One months ago while praising the veteran actor’s longevity in Hollywood. “I’ve got 20 years to catch up with him. I hope to keep making ‘Mission: Impossible’ films until I’m his age,” Tom said.

More stunts to come

Tom stands out as one of the few actors who perform their own stunts. The A-lister shocked fans with his “most dangerous” attempt so far in Mission: Impossible— Dead Reckoning Part One. Tom rode a motorbike off the top of a 1,240-meter-high cliff before opening his parachute and hitting the ground.

The father of three revealed he dedicated a year to base-jump training and did more than five hundred skydives and thousands of motocross jumps over an 80 ft. mound trained in preparation for the moment, which lasted a few minutes. “What he is able to do is create spectacle, and he knows how to entertain people. He did some of his biggest stunts to date in this film, and I was absolutely very impressed,” stunt performer Amy Johnston said.
