Shortly after sharing her tribute to the late Friends star, Matthew Perry, Kathleen Turner attended the 36th Annual Power Lunch at The Plaza Hotel in New York. She rocked the red carpet wearing a black coat over a navy blue jumper and black trousers while accessorizing with minimal jewelry and a red leather cross-body bag.
Turner, who was Perry’s TV transgender father, revealed that she was “very sad” about his death, adding that she had not seen him in the past ten years. “I liked him. He had a good sense of humor and a good heart,” Turner, who played Helena Handbasket in Friends, said.

Turner appeared on the classic series for only three episodes, however, she believes it gave her lifelong recognition as a cast member of the show. She recalled Perry attending one of her Broadway shows and being supportive of her despite their short time together.

“He came to see one of my Broadway shows, and he came backstage,” she shared. “When he saw me, he yelled out, ‘Hey dad’ and everyone thought it was pretty cool.”
Kathleen shares her thoughts on Perry’s death
Perry, who played Chandler Bing in the popular Friends series, died in his hot bathtub at 54 in his Los Angeles home. Rumors have it that the actor might have relapsed even though the police report revealed that drugs were not indicated in his death.
Kathleen also touched on his addiction battle while paying tribute to him, wishing the late actor had more control over it. “It’s extremely sad when you think about how young he was and a pity he couldn’t get more control,” he said. “I can’t imagine the pressure those guys lived under being a worldwide phenomenon. It must have been overwhelming.”
