Barbara Streisand has been caught up in several romances during her successful career spanning six decades. The actress has been linked romantically to a host of high-profile men such as Omar Sharif, Jon Peters, Don Johnson, tennis star Andre Agassi, Liam Neeson, and former Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau.
However, in her new almost 1,000-page memoir, My Name Is Barbra, the 81-year-old shared intricate details about her life. She reminisced about her love life and the men she had connection while mentioning that only one of them left a lasting impression on her.
While the 81-year-old revealed that she has vague memories about some of her love interests, one that remains etched into her memory is Kris Kristofferson, who starred with her in the 1976 musical drama A Star is Born.
Streisand recounted being captivated by Kristofferson after witnessing his performance at the Troubadour in West Hollywood, California. Their connection deepened, evolving into a serious relationship shortly thereafter, marking a significant and cherished episode in her romantic history. “He gave me hickeys on my neck,” she wrote in the book. “Thank God I had a two-piece bathing suit by Rudi Gernreich with a turtleneck top to hide them.”
Although Streisand and Kristofferson’s romance didn’t last for long, the ex-lovers have maintained a remarkable friendship over the years. The duo showcased this enduring bond in 2019 when they reunited at Streisand’s British Summer Time Festival show in London’s Hyde Park.
During the event, they captivated the audience with a duet from their iconic movie A Star Is Born, performing “Lost Inside of You.” A heartwarming video captured the moment, revealing the two actors holding hands, further reinforcing the depth of their enduring friendship.
