Selma Blair, who was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, has been open about her journey as she regularly shares her challenges, treatment, and moments of strength on social media to inspire others suffering from the same medical condition.
Recently, Blair attended the recently concluded 2023 Glamour Women of the Year Awards, held at Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City, where she shared a positive update about her health and the progress she has made.

During her interview with Entertainment Tonight at the Award show, the actress shared that ever since had a bone marrow transplant in 2021, she has consistently experienced a remarkable sense of well-being. “My health is good. I’ve been in remission since I had a bone marrow transplant,” Blair admitted to the news outlet, “To stop the progression of the MS, that had been, for really many, many years, burning.”

Blair also mentioned that despite the prolonged recovery period following the surgical procedure, she has successfully regained her strength. “So it took a while to recover,” she added. “But I am feeling really much stronger now and building stamina.”

Being one of the honorees at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards gala, the actress took a moment to reflect on the significance of the recognition, especially in line with her health battle. “This is my first time here, and it’s so wonderful to be honored. This is incredible,” Blair confessed. “And in a time when we’re definitely burdened with a lot of thoughts in this world, it’s nice to come out and celebrate people who want to hear each other’s voices. It is such an honor to be an advocate for people with disabilities.”
Blair, who has been a prominent advocate for individuals with Multiple Sclerosis since her diagnosis, shared that she takes pleasure in lending her voice and platforms to support and assist others. “It’s been a really lovely journey in this second part of my life, of finding [my] community and realizing that nothing feels as good as helping to be a megaphone for other people,” she added.
