76-Year-Old OJ Simpson Spotted In Las Vegas Looking Frail And Limping

OJ Simpson was spotted on the streets of Las Vegas recently, but the NFL legend looked unrecognizable as he strolled by Sin City’s streets looking frail and limping. He wore a gray polo top underneath a matching tracksuit set, with an iPad under one arm as he exited his black SUV.

Simpson looked a far contrast from the agile player he used to be in his prime, with a bent back and slower pace. The former running back reportedly used a cane while in prison on charges of criminal conspiracy, kidnapping, assault, robbery, and using a weapon.

Simspon had several knee injuries from his 11-year football career and underwent two knee surgeries on his left in the ’70s. Despite the surgery, he still experienced some pain, and this fact was used to defend him in court while on trial for murdering his ex-wife and her friend.

His attorney, Johnnie Cochran, claimed to the jury in 1994 that his client’s knee was too weak to be physically able to kill Nicole Brown and Ron Goldman as accused. To prove it, he asked Simpson to show his scars to prove he was handicapped. According to former Los Angeles County District Attorney Gil Garcetti, he was also on medication for arthritis before trying on the famous ill-fitting gloves (i.e. “if it doesn’t fit, you must acquit”).

More legal issues

Simpson was acquitted of the famous murder allegations 28 years ago. However, he was later forced to pay $33.5 million in damages to the victims’ families after being found guilty in the civil court. He was again sentenced to years behind bars for theft in 2008, which he served for nine years, and was paroled in 2017.

He recently called out the relatively “unfair judgment” of a 24-year-old who killed a woman while driving drunk at over 155 mph down a Las Vegas strip in 2021. Henry Ruggs received a three-to-ten-year sentence, which Simspon compared to his nine-to-thirty-three-year sentence for stealing. “You’re driving a car at roughly 160 miles per hour on a public street and end up killing a girl and her dog, and you get three to ten years? Same courthouse, same city, same state. I don’t know,” he said. “Somehow, it just does not add up to me… I’m just saying.”
