Vin Diesel wishes his mother a happy 80th birthday / Instagram
He’s an action star known for fast-paced thrill rides, but Vin Diesel knows it’s moms who make the world go round. This week, Diesel celebrated his own mom in a heartfelt Instagram post celebrating her on her 80th birthday, with plenty of hugs and words of appreciation to go around!
Diesel was born as Mark Sinclair on July 18, 1967, to astrologer Delora Sherleen Vincent (née Sinclair). He was born in her own native Alameda County, California. His adoptive father is acting instructor Irving H. Vincent. Diesel’s stage name is, in part, a tribute to his mother, derived from her married last name. But Diesel, , is still finding ways to honor this impactful woman.
Earlier this week, Diesel took to Instagram to give a big shoutout to mom. “My beautiful and incredible mother just turned 80!!!!” he captioned the post. He went on to share, “At her birthday, I asked what she wished for… Peace…”
The accompanying video shows all 5 feet, 11 inches of action icon Vin Diesel melting into a hug with his mother smiling from ear to ear in his arm. By time of writing, the post has received over 700k likes from Diesel’s 101 million followers, as well as over 11k comments from fans wishing Delora a very happy 80th birthday.
Diesel has a long, documented history of appreciating his mom. In 2015, he shared a picture of his mother beside his Fast & Furious costar Gal Gadot, captioning the Instagram post, “Happy Birthday to the most wonderful woman I have ever known, my mother. I love you mom.” He also shared, “She wants me to take her to see the Last Witch Hunter tonight. Haha.”
Jump ahead to Mother’s Day 2019 and Diesel also paid tribute to Delora on the day just for her and moms everywhere. “Happy Mother’s Day to you and yours. I can’t explain the love I have for my mother in words,” he captioned that post. “But, I can say there is no greater gift in life than a loving mother.”
Then in 2021, he shared another photo of mother and son, this one captioned, “Momma’s boy… proud of it. All love, Always.”
