Indecent Halloween Skeleton Display Has Utah City Divided

There’s a nightmare in Grantsville as residents of the Utah town find themselves divided over an NSFW Halloween display. Local resident Christopher Fujishin made waves when he put up skeleton decorations in a very suggestive arrangement, to the point where the city’s official social media page demanded that Fujishin take it down.

The problem began when Fujishin set up a skeleton pole dance display on a city street sign. Reportedly, one neighbor can be seen on camera repeatedly trying to cut the decor down, which Fujishin claims is the only backlash he received. However, the city soon intervened – and so did other residents on both sides of the argument.

Grantsville officials had a bone to pick with Fujishin and the city’s official Facebook page made a post demanding that the “person responsible” remove the salacious skeletons by 9 p.m. on Wednesday. Otherwise, the city would do for him and the items would need to be picked up at the Public Works building. “Displays like this are not acceptable as it is against city code to attach anything to a street sign,” the post further specified.

Fujishin removed the display before the deadline. However, it was only to move it off of city property and onto his own front yard. Overnight, he added lights positioned like on a stage, music, and skeleton spectators cheering on the skeleton pole dancer – complete with a tip jar!

After this change of pace, other neighbors started contributing to the display, to the delight of Fujishin. Some feel a sense of community and solidarity, while also embracing the silliness of it all. Carrie Sly, a server at Grantsville’s The Outpost, spoke about the skeleton scandal on Fox 32 and said, “We’re going to go tip them when we leave. We know what it’s like to work for tips.”

“We look forward to keeping this going, and getting it a little more elaborate as we go,” he shared.

However, not everyone thinks this NSFW skeleton display should be shown so openly. In the since-deleted Facebook post, one disgruntled neighbor objected, “I guess teaching our children respect, decency and manners has gone by the side.”
