‘The Brady Bunch’ Star Barry Williams Says The Secret To Marriage Is Learning From Disney

With a career spanning over 50 years and a permanent place in American pop culture as Greg Brady in The Brady Bunch, actor Barry Williams has a lot to be proud of. But perhaps more than that, he’s most proud of his marriage to singer, actress, and dancer Tina Mahina. From his romantic experience, Williams has simple but crucial advice to other partners out there about how to keep things happy.

Three times Williams has been married, first to Diane Martin from 1990 to ’92, then to Eila Mary Matt from ’99 to 2005. Following this last breakup, Williams was in a relationship with a woman named Elizabeth Kennedy until 2015. As of 2017, Williams has been happily married to the talented Tina, and his advice on romance is straight from a fairytale.

Although Williams and Mahina have technically been married for six years, they’ve actually been together for ten. So far, they’re still in the honeymoon phase and Williams has a key trick to keeping it that way.

“I think we could just take a page right out of the Disney book,” revealed Williams, who has been competing on Dancing with the Stars, “make her your princess.” The treatment is mutual, in its own way, as Tina is busy her dance moves so they can bond over that.

“When I come back, we can book a cruise somewhere that has a ballroom floor,” Williams shared. It’s just one of the ways they keep things exciting, which is another key factor in their relationship flourishing.

Romance and redemption

Dancing with the Stars has been a bit of a bumpy road for the actor. Williams recently participated in the show’s Disney100 theme night in honor of Disney’s own 100th anniversary. Williams was partnered with professional dancer Peta Murgatroyd and the two performed a jazz number together, choreographed around “He’s a Tramp” from Lady and the Tramp. Unfortunately, Williams fumbled and the mishap caused their score to drop to 18 out of 30 points. Last week, Williams had earned 25 out of 30 points.

But what has been smooth sailing has been his romance life ever since that fateful day he proposed in 2016, a joyful occasion he marked with a celebratory social media post.

“[Four] minutes before this sunset photo was taken, I got down on one knee with a proposal,” he posted on Twitter. “She said ‘YES’!!!” Among his many instances of showering Tina with praise on social media, Williams has gushed, “She’s fierce, and I love it.”
