Kevin James is famous for his character as Doug Hefferman in the 2000s hit sitcom The King of Queens. The comedian received a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor for his work in the CBS series. He went on to produce and write his own movies, after which he stepped out of the spotlight.
Recently, a meme from the series went viral on social media, causing fans to ask where Kevin is. Unlike most assumptions, Kevin is still in show business but as a standup comedian. He has been on the road in the past year for his The Irregardless Tour around the US, including the Stifel Theatre in St. Louis, Missouri last week.

Kevin, who is now in his 50s, starred alongside Leah Remini, Jerry Stiller— his TV wife, Carrie Heffernan, and Arthur Spooner in the nine-season show. A few days back, Kevin celebrated the 25th anniversary of the sitcom’s premiere with an Instagram post. “25 years ago today, we aired. I am so incredibly blessed to have taken this ride with the insanely talented @leahremini and Jerry Stiller,” he wrote. “I love you both so much… and thank you to the GREATEST FANS in the world.”
He still makes movies
While pursuing his career in comedy, Kevin has not stopped making movies either. In 2022, he starred in a Netflix original, Home Team, based on the true events of football coach Sean Payton who coached his son’s middle school team after his indefinite suspension from the NFL.
This year, Kevin is working with Adam Sandler for the upcoming animated film, Leo. Both actors have worked on previous productions like Hotel Transylvania, Grown Ups 1 & 2, Hubie Halloween, I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, 50 First Dates, Pixels, Paul Blart: Mall Cop, Zookeeper, and many more.
