Due to her current health condition, the 89-year-old has been forced to cancel all her lined-up events and appearances. Recently Loren gave an update about her health, assuring her fans and well-wishers that she just needs time to cool off and she will be back soon.
Sophia Loren had an emergency surgery
Following the incident, Loren had an emergency surgery that addressed the fractured site, and a team from her restaurant gave an official announcement regarding the actress’s health. “A fall at her home in Geneva today caused Ms. Loren hip fractures. Operated with a positive outcome, she will now have to observe a short period of recovery and follow a road to rehabilitation,” the post reads. “Thankfully, everything worked out for the best and the Lady will be back with us very soon. The whole team at Sophia Loren Restaurant takes this opportunity to wish her a speedy recovery.”

Loren has been enjoying the support of her sons, Carlo Jr. and Edoardo, whom she welcomed with her late husband, Carlo Ponti, during this trying time. Carlo and Edoardo rallied around their mother during her hospital stay.

Following her successful surgery, the actress made the bold choice to share her intention to temporarily step away from her usual obligations to prioritize her physical recovery.
“I thank everyone for the closeness and affection that they have been showing me,” Loren admitted. “I’m better, I just need to do rehabilitation and to take some time off.”
