She also rocked her hair – which she swears never to go gray — in a dramatic curly style that fell to her shoulders. Cher serenaded the audience with her soulful voice and stage presence as she performed two of her tracks, “Believe” and “If I Could Turn Back Time,” not knowing her daring look would later spark a conversation on social media.
Cher’s outfit attracted varying reactions, from admiration to disgust. Some applauded her for maintaining her youthfulness and going for such style at her age, while others questioned her choice of clothing as a woman in her 70s. “Only Cher can pull off an outfit like that,” a pleased fan wrote. “You are looking like age 45, must be mineral water, what’s your secret???” another added.
However, comments from disappointing fans followed as well, causing some to take sides in the comments. “Eeeew how old? Can grannies really dress like this? Crrrrrinnngggge,” a displeased fan exclaimed. “This is pitiful. At 70, not 21. Get a grip,” another user agreed. Despite the mixed reactions, the singer believes age should not inform how one chooses to dress.
Cher continues to take charge of her narrative regardless of the years. Whether it be fashion, controversial relationships, or making bigger career moves, the Goddess of Pop is one to be admired. As adventurous as she can be, there is one line she is not willing to cross — as previously noted, she is never letting her hair go gray.
“Fine for other girls, I’m just not doing it!” she confirmed, promising that her jet-black locks are not going anywhere. She also dropped a tip for those looking to replicate her style: “Less is more,” she said. Cher believes living life on your terms and never losing your younger self helps you stay ageless. “You know what? You never stop being a girl. If you never stop being a girl, you’ll never get old,” she quipped.
