Shannen Doherty Tells Fans She’s ‘Crying Constantly’ While Battling Brain Cancer

It has been a tough time for Shannen Doherty since 2015 when she was first diagnosed with cancer. The Beverly Hills, 90210 actress recently attended the ‘90s Con in Tampa, Florida, where she talked about her battle with the terminal disease during a panel session.

The actress received a standing ovation from the audience as she joined the panel onstage. While speaking about her health and personal issues alongside her co-stars Tori Spelling, Jason Priestley, Jennie Garth, Ian Ziering, Brian Austin Green, and Gabrielle Carteris, Shannen expressed herself and teared up a little.

The Charmed star fell into remission two years after her diagnosis, and by 2020, the cancer had progressed to stage four. She announced in June that it had spread to her brain while updating fans on the procedures she underwent to treat herself.

“I have a fight for my life that I deal with every day. I think I am really great,” she told the audience. Despite her ailing health, Shannen has used her popularity to shine the spotlight on the reality of cancer, removing the shame surrounding it. “Thank you so much. You guys know how much I love crying constantly. And I do, it seems. So, thank you,” she said amid sobs.

Dealing with divorce

Aside from her health, Shannen dealt with the failure of her third marriage in April. She split from her photographer ex-husband Kurt Iswarienko after eleven years of marriage due to infidelity. “My other profession is getting engaged, married, and divorced, and I’m doing that very well,” she joked during her talk.

According to her representative, a divorce was the “last thing” she wanted for her marriage. “She felt she was left with no other option,” they said. After the breakup news, Shannen assured her fans on social media, stating that she is ‘doing better than okay.’ “I’m doing well. I feel strong and healthy and confident and happy,” she added at the time.
