Former Black Sabbath singer Ozzy Osbourne has undeniably faced many health challenges during his illustrious career. In 2003, he suffered a quadbike accident, which necessitated spinal surgery, and later that year, Ozzy was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.
In February, the singer announced his retirement from touring amongst his struggles with mobility issues related to his Parkinson’s disease and the past traumas he experienced. During a recent episode of their family’s podcast, The Osbournes, Ozzy revealed that he still experiences much pain and is set to undergo a fourth surgery.
Ozzy Osbourne says he still has a problem with his back from the bike accident
During the heartfelt discussion, Ozzy candidly shared that his neck has been successfully repaired, marking a positive development in his ongoing journey to recovery. However, he noted that he still experiences challenges with his back.

“My lower back is, I’m going for an epidural soon because what’s happening,” Ozzy says, “What they’ve discovered is the neck has been fixed, below the neck, there’s two vertebrae where the bike hit me and disintegrated, there’s nothing left of ’em.”
He is considering having another surgery
The heavy metal singer further explained that he is considering undergoing another surgical procedure due to the constant pain he has been experiencing.
“I said to the doctor yesterday, you know what I’ve heard, which I have. People have discs replaced that are worked on and they become the strongest things in the bone. Sharon then said the doctor said they don’t know if the surgery it will work or not,” Ozzy admitted. “In my back, the two discs, and the muscles on my shoulders have separated from my skeleton, and that’s why I lean forward as it’s like gravity is bringing my head forward.”
