Bob Barker To Be Honored With An Hour-long CBS Tribute

The late Bob Barker, who had a remarkable career that spanned over eight decades, left an indelible mark on the entertainment industry. During his time on the CBS game show The Price Is Right, he became a fan-favorite, charming audiences with his charismatic presence and engaging demeanor.

Following his death, CBS unveiled plans for a special one-hour event titled The Price Is Right: A Tribute to Bob Barker. The forthcoming program delves into the multifaceted journey of Barker, celebrating not only his role as a television host but also shedding light on the depth of his contributions.

The special tribute is set to offer a rich array of on-camera highlights that span across more than three decades of Barker’s illustrious career. These moments will vividly display his exceptional talents as a captivating and remarkably quick-witted television host as well as his ability to forge unique and lasting connections with numerous contestants on The Price Is Right.

Taking on the role of host for the event will be none other than Drew Carey, who stepped into Barker’s shoes as the host of The Price Is Right. Carey’s involvement adds a layer of significance as he not only inherited Barker’s position but also nurtured a profound admiration for and friendship with the legendary TV personality.

CBS says the special is aimed at celebrating the achievements of Bob Barker

Margot Wain, Senior Vice President of Daytime Programs at CBS, has unveiled the reason behind the upcoming special. “This tribute to the legendary Bob Barker will bring back great memories for generations of The Price Is Right fans who loved Bob, his humor, his ability to connect with contestants, and his innate talent for making the most out of every moment,” Wain stated. “Bob was one-of-a-kind; he’ll be remembered as an extraordinary host, a devoted animal activist, and, as he would put it, ‘a loyal friend and true.’ We’re so pleased to be able to salute his many accomplishments and honor his memory in this way.”

The special tribute is scheduled to be broadcast on Thursday, August 31, at 8/7c on CBS, and it will also be available for streaming on Paramount+. Additionally, there will be a repeat showing during the regular weekday time slot of The Price Is Right on Monday, September 4th.
