Adele Performs Tearful Gender Reveal For Couple During Concert

Based at Caesars Palace, Adele has been in the midst of her Weekends with Adele residency at The Colosseum. Despite this commitment, Adele has also found time to help perform a gender reveal for a couple – right onstage during a live performance.

Concert policies vary from place to place and have certainly changed a lot over time; the fact that the couple was able to hold up a sign with the unique request was remarkable by itself. But Adele made the occasion particularly special for the couple, who traveled across the country harboring a secret for several weeks.

Chris Dare and Shantelle Lord are bound in holy matrimony – and in a mutual love of Adele music. So, when they attended a recent concert this week, they penned a sign that read, “Adele will you do our gender reveal?”

Shantelle was 18 weeks pregnant by the time the concert took place, but the couple had had the envelope revealing the baby’s gender since the 12-week mark. They traveled across the country with the sealed folder and a dream that perhaps Adele would do the gender reveal herself.

Later during the event, the couple was called up onto the stage so she could do exactly that.

“No one’s really allowed signs in here. I’m just obsessed that you got one in,” Adele teased to the couple in a video Dare shared on TikTok and Instagram. She sat on the edge of the stage and took the envelope.

“Shantelle and Chris are having a baby — boy!” she announced to the entire audience. The excitement of the couple – who received a hug and well wishes from Adele – was matched by the singer herself who actually ended up crying.

“That was amazing,” she praised through tears before offering apologies for the emotional display. “I’m so happy for you! I’m so happy for you! That’s so emotional, oh my God.” She then queried, “If and when I get pregnant will you do my gender reveal?”

That is one concert no one will forget any time soon and that child will have one remarkable story to tell the friends.
