Despite famous Burger King cook Kevin Ford’s previous claims to not want to retire any time soon, it seems the 55-year-old has had a change of heart as he now plans on retiring so that he can spend time with his family. “The miracle of generosity of so many people all around the world has allowed me to save for retirement and my children’s and grandchildren’s futures,” he said in April. “And even to someday soon own my own home. Dreams really can come true.”
These opportunities were not always so close to becoming reality. A stroke of good luck befell Kevin in June 2022 when he garnered attention for his remarkable 27 years of service to the food chain without missing a day of work. As a token of appreciation, the Las Vegas outlet gifted him a package comprised of movie tickets, a handful of pens, and a bag of Reese’s Pieces.

A video posted on TikTok highlighted that Ford began working with Burger King in 1996 as a single father, driven by the aspiration to secure custody of his two children. Despite his marital and family challenges, he was dedicated to his role at the Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport branch of the food chain.

To celebrate Kevin’s selfless service to the fast food chain and its customers, Burger King gave him that “appreciation package” that sparked outrage from netizens who believe the company could have been more generous in acknowledging his remarkable dedication.
His GoFundMe received Over $400,000 in donations
The outrage from social media prompted Ford’s daughter, Seryna, to set up a GoFundMe page, inviting individuals to contribute if they felt inclined to “bless him.” She explained that the raised funds would facilitate his ability to “spend time with his grandchildren” and provide assistance for his retirement.
The GoFundMe campaign has now amassed an impressive $403,000 through 13,500 donations. This includes a generous contribution of $5,000 from comedian David Spade.
