KISS Frontmen Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley Open Rockin’ Restaurant In Milwaukee

Wisconsin residents, get ready to rock out for each meal! Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons, founding members of the rock band KISS, have opened their restaurant Rock & Brews, located in Milwaukee’s Potawatomi Casino Hotel.

Rock & Brews, which started back in 2010, has chains across the country. It uses locally sourced foods and products from nearby breweries to offer “classic comfort food with a unique spin.” For Stanley and Simmons, this particular branch is very meaningful to them both.

On Tuesday, a ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the official opening of Rock & Brews. The cover band PRISS performed while Simmons talked up the Demon Chicken Sandwich, whose name is derived by his stage persona.

“It’s hot, it’s so hot, it’s like a punch in the face,” he praised. “There are jalapenos, they’re freshly sliced, so it’s not sort of calmed by being in a jar, so that’s me, it’s not for everybody.” In this way, the Demon Chicken Sandwich is just like the rest of the restaurant: a celebration of rock and roll culture.

“This is a celebration of rock and roll, but it’s not a funeral parlor,” said Stanely. “it’s not all about dead artists, this is about celebrating the vibrancy of rock and roll, and the enduring quality of rock and roll.” The new venue sits on 6,000-square-foot space and houses a stage for live music – of course. It’s also decked out in decorations celebrating the history of music – especially rock and roll.

KISS began its reign of darkness in 1973 and the Rock and Roll Hall of Famers would receive warm welcomes around the country. As for Rock & Brews, this new one is the 23rd in the growing chain, but its location is particularly meaningful for Simmons and Stanley.

“Milwaukee has always been amazing for us,” shared Stanley, adding, “We’ve been all over, and for us to be in Milwaukee, that’s magical for us. I remember as a little kid, the Milwaukee Braves. So it goes back to that part, and then, being able to play with KISS. And now, having a Rock & Brews here. It’s a dream come true.”

According to Waukesha County’s The Freeman, Rock & Brews has 10 locations in California, five in Florida, three in Texas, and one in Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma.

“Every Rock & Brews is special,” Stanley continued. “This is our 23rd. So, with each one that we open, we pretty much raise the bar because we learn so much from each one. Every one we’re proud of. But this is our latest and this is our greatest as far as I’m concerned.”
