Ozzy Osbourne, who was originally billed to join the impressive lineup featuring Guns N’ Roses, Iron Maiden, Tool, Metallica, and AC/DC at the Power Trip festival, withdrew his participation due to health-related reasons.
“As painful as this is, I’ve had to make the decision to bow out of performing on Power Trip in October. My original plan was to return to the stage in the summer of 2024, and when the offer to do this show came in, I optimistically moved forward,” Osbourne confessed. “Unfortunately, my body is telling me that I’m just not ready yet, and I am much too proud to have the first show that I do in nearly five years be half-assed.”
During a recent appearance on the Sirius XM radio program Ozzy’s Boneyard, the former Black Sabbath frontman took a moment to give his fans an update on the current state of his health. He revealed that he just had a blood clot filter removed from his body.
“When I had the blood clots in my legs, they put a filter in your artery to stop the blood clots going to your heart and your brain. It sounds worse than it is,” Osbourne admitted. “So, on Monday, I went to have it removed. The blood clots have jammed you all up. It’s just disappointment after disappointment. Just get this thing fucking done so I can go get on with my life.”
Despite the singer battling a list of health problems over the years, Ozzy is still eager to make good music and entertain his fans. His Parkinson’s diagnosis forced him to retire early and he has been looking for every opportunity to tell the world and his fans that his career isn’t over yet.
“If the doctor said to me today, ‘Oh, you can tour,’” he revealed during an interview with SiriusXM host Billy Morrison. “It would take another six months to get it together, you know? The only thing I’ve got that keeps me going is making records. But I can’t do that forever. I gotta get out there.”
