Christina Applegate Gets Candid On Multiple Sclerosis Diagnosis, Says ‘It’s Never A Good Day’

Christina Applegate gained widespread recognition for her role as Kelly Bundy in the popular sitcom Married… with Children, which aired from 1987 to 1997. In August 2021, Applegate’s life took a turn when she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, a disease that affected her life greatly. In an interview with British Vogue, Applegate revealed that she became aware of her condition when her friend, Selma Blair, encouraged her to seek medical advice after several complaints.

“I was sitting in Selma’s living room, our children playing, and I told Selma I’d been having this weird tingling in my feet. She said, ‘You must get tested for MS.’ [Even my doctor doubted it], but there it was,” Applegate admitted. “In essence, because of her, I’m going to have a better quality of life.”

The actress also revealed that she has now transitioned to using her voice majorly instead of making on-screen appearances. “I can do voiceover stuff because I have to support my family and keep my brain working,” she added. “I can’t even imagine going to set right now. This is a progressive disease. I don’t know if I’m going to get worse.”
