Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward, who were married for 50 years, had one of the most enduring marriages in Hollywood until Newman’s death in 2008. The couple met in 1953 while working on the Broadway play Picnic but were both married to other people at the time.

However, their love grew stronger connection, and they eventually divorced their respective spouses before they tied the knot in 1958. All through their marriage, the relationship was characterized by love, respect, and a deep connection.

The couple welcomed three daughters together, Elinor “Nell” Teresa, Melissa “Lissy” Stewart, and Claire “Clea” Olivia, in addition to Newman’s three kids from his first marriage to Jackie White. Despite being celebrities, the couple made a conscious effort to keep their personal lives out of the spotlight, preferring to prioritize their family and privacy. “They never got sucked into the trapping of Hollywood and raised a family with a strong set of ethics,” an insider stated.
