Rumors of President John F. Kennedy’s extramarital affairs during his ten-year marriage to First Lady Jackie Kennedy Onassis had been circulating even before his untimely demise in 1963. In a 2016 feature, PEOPLE delved into the lives of several women who either claimed or were reported to have been linked romantically to the 35th president of the United States.

However, in August 2021, another woman, Diana de Vegh, revealed that she had been involved with the president since she was 20 years old, and the president was twice her age. Diana also recalled how the president often described her as “something special,” a remark that undeniably caught her attention.

In the revealing account, Simon disclosed that Jackie was indeed aware of her husband’s infidelity during their marriage. “In a cheerful but resigned way, she told me that of course she knew about them,” she wrote. “She just didn’t mind their presence as much as she might have.
