A day before her sudden hospitalization due to a bacterial infection, Madonna appeared to be in high spirits as she was spotted visiting the Karl Lagerfeld exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum in New York City in the company of one of her dancers and her assistant.
During the outing, the Queen of Pop opted for a casual look that consisted of black sweatpants, a long-sleeved black shirt, and a black baseball cap. Additionally, Madonna rocked sunglasses and had a black jacket tied around her waist while completing her look with a pair of white and red Nike Air Max sneakers.
Just hours after her public outing, Madonna was discovered unresponsive in her New York home, after which she was swiftly transported to a hospital where she underwent intubation. TMZ reported that the famous singer had been experiencing a persistent, low-grade fever for a month but chose to overlook her symptoms and did not seek medical attention, as she was prioritizing preparations for her highly anticipated Celebration tour, which has now been postponed indefinitely.
However, following her treatment in the hospital, Madonna returned home to continue her process of recuperation. The 64-year-old is still facing significant challenges as she is currently experiencing severe symptoms, which include uncontrollable vomiting, and this has left her bedridden.
Previous reports revealed that Madonna had dedicated long hours to rehearsing at Long Island’s Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale in preparation for her upcoming tour. A close friend of the singer, in an interview with Page Six, disclosed that she was pushing herself too hard.
“Of course, there are other acts older than her still on the road, but they aren’t dancing and performing like she does. She knows how much her fans have been looking forward to this retrospective tour — it’s sold out around the world — and she wanted to give them her best,” the friend confessed. “Seeing how well the tickets had sold had really motivated her because it showed how much people wanted to see her.”
