Thirty-four years after the 1989 holiday classic, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, Chevy Chase, who played Clark Griswold, will be headlining his first Christmas convention this year. Christmas Con will be taking place in Edison, New Jersey, between December 8th and 10th.
The event is every Christmas fanatic’s dream, with a holiday market of local artists, vendors, props, many holiday activities to partake in, and a panel of Christmas movie stars, which will include Chevy this time.
Fans anticipate the convention to be hosted by 79-year-old Chevy
Chevy’s attendance ahead of the much anticipated Christmas convention event was announced just after the Christmas Con’s second-ever summer event in June, which took place near Hallmark headquarters in Kansas City.

Excited fans who can’t wait to attend the Christmas Con got a starter event with stars like Barbara Eden, Melissa Joan Hart, Benjamin Ayres, Taylor Cole, and Cameron Mathison. Last year, many Hallmark, Lifetime, and GAF Holiday actors were in attendance, including Andrew Walker, Nikki DeLoach, Paul Campbell, Danica McKellar, Chad Michael Murray, and Autumn Reeser. Mean Girls co-stars Lacey Chabert and Jonathan Bennett were also present.
Chevy is Hyne’s perfect Christmas Co-Star
In August last year, Hallmark holiday movie star Tyler Hynes told People at Christmas Con Pasadena that Chevy is his dream co-star. “I mean, if we’re talking about holiday stars, I would just think of Chevy Chase from the Lampoon movies,” Hynes said. “Christmas Vacation is one of those legendary movies I grew up on.”
Hynes also pointed out that he was named after Chevy’s character in Caddyshack. “Doing these movies now and having him be in it would be a full-circle moment,” the 37-year-old added. Chevy starred in the vacation series written by John Hughes and directed by Jeremiah S. Chechik over three decades ago.
