Robert De Niro made headlines in May when he revealed that he and girlfriend Tiffany Chen welcomed his seventh child at the age of 79. This extraordinary milestone firmly established him as one of Hollywood’s most seasoned and mature fathers.
Having been married twice, the celebrated actor has enjoyed the joy of fatherhood with various partners. His marriage with first wife Diahnne Abbott was blessed with a daughter, Drena, and a son, Raphael. De Niro also shares twin sons, Julian and Aaron, with former girlfriend Toukie Smith. Additionally, the actor welcomed a son, Elliot, and a daughter, Helen, from his second marriage to Grace Hightower.
During a recent anniversary screening of his film A Bronx Tale as part of the events at the Tribeca Film Festival, De Niro candidly revealed in an interview with People Magazine that his youngest daughter, Gia, had not yet been acquainted with her six older siblings. “Not yet, but they will,” he said.
The actor also humorously mentioned that this year’s Father’s Day would undoubtedly be a fully booked occasion for him as he plans to spend quality time with his family. “[I’m] just gonna spend it with the kids,” De Niro emphasized, “and all that.”
In a heartfelt gesture, he also extended warmest wishes to his dear friend and co-star, the legendary Al Pacino, who, at the age of 83, had recently celebrated the arrival of a newborn son named Roman with girlfriend Noor Alfallah. “Listen, Al Pacino just had a baby, I was told yesterday morning,” De Niro said. “He’s a few years older than me. God bless him. Very happy for him.”
Chazz Palminteri and Kathrine Narducci, who co-starred with De Niro in A Bronx Tale, were present at the event and shared their thoughts on the actor’s newborn child with People magazine. Palminteri, who revealed that he had seen the child, expressed his admiration for the baby, while Narducci praised the actor and acknowledged him as a great dad and a wonderful person.
“I’ve seen him around his kids, and I know his daughter Drena, and they have a beautiful relationship,” they disclosed to the news outlet. “And I think he’s a great guy — a great dad, a great person and a great human being.”
