Harrison Ford and Ke Huy Quan co-starred in 1984’s Indiana Jones and the Temple Of Doom, which was the second installment of the Indiana Jones series. Recently, the duo shared a warm hug at the Los Angeles premiere of the final installment of the series titled Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.
Ford and Quan met earlier at Disney’s D23 expo in September after not seeing each other for decades. Quan couldn’t hide his excitement as he took to Instagram to post the reunion moment on his page with the caption, “I love you Indy. Indiana Jones and Short Round reunited after 38 years.”
Quan thought Ford may not recognize him after 38 years
After the mini-reunion, Quan told The New York Times he was skeptical about Ford recognizing him after so many years. However, the 81-year-old movie icon did, to Quan’s delight.

“I go, ‘Oh my gosh, he probably thinks I’m a fan and he’s gonna tell me to not come near him.’ But he looks and points at me and says, ‘Are you Short Round?’ Immediately, I was transported back to 1984, when I was a little kid, and I said, ‘Yes, Indy.’ And he said, ‘Come here,’ and gave me a big hug,” Quan gushed.
Quan wished to reprise his role in subsequent ‘Indiana Jones’ films
Quan met Ford for the first time while they worked on Temple of Doom, and he had a lot of good things to say about the actor. “He’s an amazing man— one of the most generous men on the planet,” Quan told The New York Times.
Earlier this year, Quan admitted that he was hopeful that his character, Short Round, would return for the third Indiana Jones movie, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade; however, that did not happen, and he would also not feature in the most recent Indiana Jones movie, in which Ford will be appearing for the last time.
After Indiana Jones and a few more roles in the 1990s, the 51-year-old actor took a hiatus from acting for almost two decades. Quan had an inspiring comeback playing Waymond in 2022’s Sci-Fi movie Everything Everywhere All At Once, which earned him an Oscar.
