After an illustrious tenure of over four decades, popular Wheel of Fortune host Pat Sajak officially declared his retirement. Sajak took to Twitter recently to announce that he will be stepping down from his hosting duties in the coming year.

“Well, the time has come,” he wrote via the social media platform. “It’s been a wonderful ride, and I’ll have more to say in the coming months. Many thanks to you all. (If nothing else, it’ll keep the clickbait sites busy!)” Reiterating the host’s announcement, Suzanne Prete, the EVP of Game Show, revealed to PEOPLE that the 76-year-old will also assume the role of a consultant for the next three years, bringing his invaluable expertise and guidance to the production team.

The actress might be a perfect replacement for Pat Sajak on Wheel of Fortune, given her familiarity with game shows in addition to other hosting gigs that she has taken up over the years. Goldberg was previously a producer on the 1998 revival of Hollywood Squares, an American game show that features celebrities and two contestants who judge the correctness of the answers provided by the stars to questions posed to them.
