Bruce Willis’ daughter Rumer, whom he shares with ex-wife Demi Moore, welcomed her first child, Louetta Isley Thomas Willis, in April. The actor’s family was thrilled to welcome the newborn at a time when their spirits were down and everyone needed to draw strength from the good news.
Despite Bruce’s battles with medical challenges—frontotemporal dementia, a source revealed that the grandfather-grandaughter first moment was a great one as the actor was happy and “lit up when he held little Lou.”
Meeting Lou brought the family closer
The source added that Rumer knew having her baby was not only a special time for her but for her father, Bruce, as well. “It was such an emotional moment, so many feelings. Rumer was in tears. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room. It was beautiful and bittersweet,” the family said.

“Bruce’s health battle has been very difficult for everyone, but meeting his first grandchild brought the entire family even that much closer. Rumer couldn’t wait — she brought the baby to her dad right away,” the source added.
Bruce hardly is happy about the newborn
Due to his health condition, Bruce struggles with communication, as shared by his wife, Emma. However, that did not prevent everyone around from seeing how delighted the Die Hard actor was to see his new granddaughter.
“It felt as if Bruce had received a boost of energy. He didn’t say this, but it’s like his granddaughter gave him a reason to fight even harder,” the source said. “Everyone felt it. He fell in love with her instantly. She’s like an angel from heaven.” Rumer has now added to the number of girls in the family, as Bruce is known to be a doting girl dad.
