Over the years, Christie Brinkley is known for her positive attitude toward aging and has often been vocal about the significance of self-care and a healthy lifestyle. It is quite remarkable that, at 69 years old, Brinkley continues to radiate grace and elegance.
In most of her public discussions, she encourages people to prioritize their well-being by sharing health and well-being tips such as regular exercise, proper nutrition, and skincare routines that will help them to maintain a youthful appearance and overall vitality.
In a recent interview with People, while hosting Pet Life Unlimited’s Furever Young senior dog adoption event in New York City, she revealed that she is not bothered about growing old. “I pretty much feel, as I’m approaching 70, the same way that I felt when I was approaching 30,” Brinkley confessed to the news outlet. “I feel good. I feel strong, I feel like the number doesn’t match my spirit, so I may as well just keep spiriting on.”
She also revealed that there are double standards that come with growing old because society has certain expectations. “If you don’t go gray, some people really make a big deal about it, like ‘Oh, that’s so disappointing. She’s not owning it. She’s trying to do something other than who she is.’ And it’s like, no. I believe firmly that if there’s something bothering you, take care of it,” Brinkley admitted to People. “I think the important thing is to do what works best for you. People will put pressure on you in every direction.”
Brinkley, who will be clocking the milestone age bracket of a septuagenarian, soon stated that she has mixed feelings as she is set to clock 70. “I think they all signal to us certain things,” she explained to the news outlet.”I’ve been shocked by not feeling the way I thought I was supposed to be feeling at that age.”
She also disclosed that not focusing on her age and spending time with her family remains the secret to her beautiful and youthful appearance over the years. “I don’t believe that focusing on age is going to make you feel any better about it. I think curiosity in the world around you and just wanting to do something with each day, that is what keeps you young and going,” Brinkley told People. “I just love any time I have any family and friends around, just being able to sit and laugh — I think laughter heals everything.”
