‘Toxic Workplace’ Allegations At Kelly Clarkson’s Show Reminiscent Of Ellen DeGeneres Blowout

Recently, a group of past and present employees of The Kelly Clarkson Show shared their experiences of how they endured excessive workloads and poor compensation while working on the show. The individuals affected revealed that they were compelled to take on extra jobs such as babysitting, dog walking, and working as Uber Eats drivers so as to make ends meet.

To address the issue, Kelly Clarkson took to Instagram to give a  response to the disturbing allegations of a “toxic work environment” associated with her widely recognized talk show. “In my 20 years in the entertainment industry, I’ve always led with my heart and what I believed to be right,” she captioned the post on Saturday. “I love my team at ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show,’ and to find out that anyone is feeling unheard and disrespected on this show is unacceptable.”

Kelly Clarkson says she is committed to improving the lives of her staff

Clarkson also emphasized her unwavering commitment to fostering a safe and healthy workplace for everyone involved.

“As we prepare for a move to the East Coast, I am more committed than ever to ensuring that not only [for] our team that is moving, but also [that] our new team in NY is comprised of the best and kindest in the business,” she admitted. “There is always room to grow and ensure we are all being/becoming the best version of ourselves in any business, especially when it comes to leadership, to ensure that any notion of toxicity is eradicated.”

NBC Universal also addressed the allegation report

A spokesperson from NBCUniversal, the parent company of both The Kelly Clarkson Show and TODAY.com, also issued a response to the allegations, acknowledging the gravity of the claims and expressing their sincere commitment to addressing the situation. The spokesperson emphasized that the media company is taking the allegations very seriously, affirming their dedication to ensuring a respectful and supportive work environment for all employees involved.

“We are committed to a safe and respectful work environment and take workplace complaints very seriously, and to insinuate otherwise is untrue,” the representative said. “When issues are reported, they are promptly reviewed, investigated and acted upon as appropriate. ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show’ strives to build a safe, respectful and equitable workplace that nurtures a culture of inclusivity and creativity.”

This isn’t the first time the public has seen toxic workplace allegations come to light about a popular talk show. Back in 2020, a private investigation took place into The Ellen DeGeneres Show when employees came forward to talk about how they were treated working on Ellen’s show, forcing the long-time talk show host to address those concerns before the show was ultimately canceled.
