A Polish woman by the name of Julia Wendel is now claiming she could be the famously missing child Madeleine McCann. McCann vanished in Portugal 16 years ago while on vacation with her family and has been missing since, that is, until Wendel’s claims began to go viral online recently.
Furthermore, Wendel says that just last week a German pedophile who was a primary suspect in the disappearance had assaulted her as a child. She also claims the McCann family approached her to perform a DNA test to confirm the match.

Reports say that Wendel believes she is 21 but could be wrong about her age. Madeleine was born in 2003, which would make her 19, and aside from that, Wendel believes she resembles the missing girls’ parents as well. Wendel also claims she has the same eye deformity that Madeleine has.

A source close to the McCann family has said that “the family isn’t taking any risks and is willing to check any references. It’s important that they look at all the factors, and the girl does indeed look similar. No one is debating that. If what she says is true, there is a chance that it’s her.”
Wendel says that she was completely unaware of the Madeleine McCann disappearance until she began asking about her parents’ stories and her childhood. She apparently had no memories of any of it. “The memories are very blurry, and when I talked about them with my parents, things didn’t match up. They always tried to change the subject,” she says.
“My teacher at school said that I didn’t always attend school, but my parents insist that I did. After all that confusion, I started doing my own research, I discovered what happened to Madeleine McCann, and I connected the dots. It’s so stressful trying to get people to believe me.”
