Tomlin felt particular excitement for the movie specifically because it is based on a true story. “I’d seen a video of one of the women getting a call from Tom Brady to tell her that her grandson had pitched the idea to his agent and he was so taken with the story he was going to make a movie about their adventure,” she explained. She loved the woman in the story for her “humor, her sweetness.” She imagined her own excited mother getting a call from Brady and says she’d have been thrilled by 80 for Brady.
