Costco has a lot of great items at good prices. It is essential for big families or those who want to stock up on household items. Costco even has some great food and gift options. However, every store has its duds and Costco is no exception. There are a few things that other customers say you should never purchase from Costco.
Unless you have a very large family or go through a lot of produce each week, Costco is probably not the place to get things like potatoes, avocados, and other fresh produce. It all comes in a large quantity and will likely go bad before you have the chance to finish it all. Some even report that items like potatoes go bad more quickly, making them even more wasteful.
Others complain that the hard-boiled eggs, namely Costco’s brand Kirkland organic hard-boiled eggs aren’t that great. A user on Reddit wrote, “The hard-boiled eggs are pretty gross, they have a weird flavor.” Others suggested the user got a bad batch. Another heated debate online is about the My/Mo Mochi ice cream. While some love the unique dessert, others think the flavor is gross and the texture is off. It is true that you must be used to the chewiness of the outer shell to enjoy these.
One Costco fan favorite has reportedly gone downhill since the pandemic. The chicken bake was one of the most popular items from the food court but customers have been complaining about its taste recently. One person wrote, “It’s basically just an expensive baguette with a thin tube of salted cheese inside, the last couple I’ve had barely had any chicken at all.” Some say it used to be cheaper and contain more chicken.
Lastly, many customers warn that you should not buy sushi from Costco but stick to quality restaurants instead. Okami Sushi Party Trays were recently seen on sale for just $3.97 for 25 pieces, which is a warning that it may not be safe to consume anymore.
