Jenna Bush-Hager recently talked to Today co-host Hoda Kotb about her daughter, Mila. She recently starred in her school play, in which she played the role as Seymour in Little Shop of Horrors. It was certainly a proud mom moment for Bush-Hager as she said it felt like her heart was “outside of her chest” watching her little one do something she loved and enjoyed.
The reason why it was such a big deal for the proud mom was because Mila apparently doesn’t like to be the center of attention, which is what the role in the play called for.
It was actually pretty funny watching Bush-Hager explain how her daughter completely downplayed how big her role really was and just how talented the youngster really is! The mom says she was completely blown away when they finally went to go see the finalized show, which was completely with both speaking and singing parts! Bush-Hager looked emotional as she talked about how while both her daughters (the other one being Poppy) love drama and theatre, this was super out of Mila’s comfort zone as she doesn’t like to be the center of attention, and it was just an incredible moment to witness.
Even Mila’s teachers took notice, telling Bush-Hager that they were so shocked at the kid’s willingness to do something that was so unlike her. Bush-Hager goes on to say that Mila was incredibly humble about the whole thing, as she wasn’t scared or nervous, but she wasn’t overly confident either—she was just happy and comfortable doing her thing onstage, which perhaps is what blew everyone away the most.
