Elizabeth Hurley Reacts To Death Of Ex-Fiancé Shane Warne

Elizabeth Hurley is reacting to the death of her ex-fiancé, Shane Warne. Warne, who was widely known as one of the greatest cricket players in history, suddenly died recently at the age of 52. “I feel like the sun has gone behind a cloud forever. RIP my beloved Lionheart,” Hurley captioned a series of photos on Instagram.

The photos Hurley posted included snaps of them kissing on the beach, attending various events together, and smiling for a selfie.

Fox Sports television, the company that employed Warne as a commentator, released a statement from the family in which they suspected a possible heart attack. “Shane was found unresponsive in his villa and despite the best efforts of medical staff, he could not be revived,” the statement read.

Cricket Australia also made a statement, calling Warne “a true cricketing genius.” The statement continues, “Shane’s strength of character and enormous resilience saw him bounce back from career-threatening finger and shoulder injuries, and his stamina and his sheer will to win, and his self-belief were key factors in Australia’s great side of the late 1990s and early 2000s.”

As the story goes, police in Thailand were alerted when a friend staying in the complex went to check on Warne when he failed to show up for dinner, then found him unconscious in the villa. His body has since been transferred to Ko Samui Hospital for an autopsy.

In terms of Warne’s career in cricket, he held the record for most test wickets (708) when he retired in 2007 after his 145th match. Hurley and Warne were previously engaged but called it off back in 2013. Warne’s death comes just nearly two years after the death of her ex Steve Bing, who is father to Hurley’s son Damian.

“I am saddened beyond belief that my ex Steve is no longer with us. It is a terrible end. Our time together was happy and I’m posting these pictures because although we went through some tough times, it’s the good, wonderful memories of a sweet, kind man that matter,” Hurley had written back in 2020 following his death.

Hurley has previously spoken about being friends with all her exes. “All of my boyfriends, husbands and fiancés have been my best friends, so it’s a terrible gap they leave,” she says. “I think that’s when you learn the importance of having other sources of comfort, fun and intimacy. You feel cozy with people that have been your best friends for 30 years, but occasionally you’ll meet someone who you click with — it’s important to keep yourself open to that.”
