The Eagles have a plethora of incredible hits including “Hotel California,” “Witchy Woman,” and “Take It Easy.” They haven’t released an album with new music in many years, so naturally, fans are wondering if they are working on anything new and exciting! Unfortunately, the answer seems to be no.
Musician Vince Gill joined the band in 2017 and changed up their sound a bit. When asked if he was creating anything new with The Eagles, he simply said no. He explained, “There doesn’t seem to be any kind of attempt at that, and I think that’s pretty healthy.” Vince is known for his bluegrass sound and he admitted that he doesn’t think that most Eagles fans love that kind of twang.
Vince added that Don Henley offered to add one of Vince’s songs into the lineup of their live set. He said, “I’m already stepping onto a place where a lot of people may not be that accepting of me. The last thing I want to do is give them one more reason to say ‘I didn’t come here to hear his songs, too. I just came to hear Eagles songs!’”
Vince also shared that the band has an extensive list of songs so he doesn’t feel like they need to make new music. Of course, some fans may disagree as they love new music from their favorite bands!
He added, “You’ve just got that catalog of material and every night it’s great song after great song after great song.” The Eagles did release a new live album in 2020 featuring some of their greatest songs.
