Brooke has been very open about her fitness journey as she’s faced some issues in the last few years, including knee surgery back in 2018 and then breaking her femur this past February. She broke her femur by standing on a balance board when she fell and broke the thighbone. This is known as the longest bone in the human body.

“I flew up in the air with such force, and I landed so heavy and so hard and with such musculature and such velocity and such height,” she says during a segment of Today with Hoda & Jenna.“The only thing I could keep saying was that I could feel my toes because I just knew that I couldn’t move, but I wanted to make sure I wasn’t paralyzed.”

Brooke even adds that the pain was excruciating—“I’ve never screamed like that,” she remembers. “I mean, not even in childbirth,” she says to Prevention Magazine.
So, since the incident, she has been very reliant on physical therapy to help recover and rehabilitate. “I think it’s almost been the biggest blessing to date because I realized what a fighter I am,” she tells Deborah Roberts on Good Morning America.
In addition to physical therapy, Brooke shared that she was able to regain strength and put more weight on her leg by doing SoulCycle workouts regularly and using resistance bands. And, the best part is that you don’t have to go all-out in order to receive the benefits from it. “You don’t have to deadlift 100 pounds. You can do small, teeny movements to activate these little muscles that actually wrap around other bigger muscles, and they tighten them all in,” she says to Today. “It was a revelation to work with a personal trainer and it not be a crazy painful thing.”
