TODAY co-anchor Savannah Guthrie recently underwent cataract surgery. Last year, Savannah revealed that she had torn her retina. The day after the eye surgery, Savannah shared with fans that she was already feeling and seeing a lot better!
Savannah shared a photo of herself gazing at a beautiful bouquet of flowers. She wrote, “Seeing all the colors a little brighter today 🌸. I’m so grateful my surgery was a success! I’m still healing but already noticing a major improvement in my vision. My eyes are filled – with tears of joy! So much gratitude to my gifted surgeon @abrissettemd and her amazing team! See you later this week on ‘TODAY!’ And when I say ‘see you’ – I really mean it. ❤️”
Her eye was injured when her young son accidentally hit her in the eye with a toy train. She had a blurry spot that wouldn’t go away. Luckily, it seems that the eye surgery corrected the issue and she will be seeing normally! She was supposed to have the surgery months ago, but it was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Savannah previously described the injury. She said, “It’s kind of distorted and then it’s got a wavy thing, and then now I have this cataract, which is a big blurry spot. Once they remove that blur, I think it will be a lot better.”
Get well soon, Savannah!
