Country Music Icons Share Tributes To The Late Charlie Daniels

Yesterday, we shared the sad news that singer-songwriter Charlie Daniels had died. He was 83 years old and had a very long career. His music impacted many artists today, especially country artists. While Charlie was mainly a country artist, his music was also dubbed rock, gospel, and more.

After the news broke of his passing, country artists shared tributes on social media including Dolly Parton, Travis Tritt, Randy Travis, and many more. Let’s see what they said about the music icon and how he inspired them.

Artists share tributes to the late Charlie Daniels

Travis Tritt shared a lengthy message on Instagram with a photo of himself and Charlie. He wrote, “My heart is crushed today after hearing that my dear friend Charlie Daniels has passed away. Charlie was the first legendary artist to take me under his wing and encourage me when I was first getting started in the business. He was always there for me when I needed him.”

Travis continued, “I have so many great memories of touring, performing, writing and recording with Charlie, but my favorite memories are of simply talking with the man when it was just the two of us alone. Farewell dear friend until we meet again. Thank you for being such a friend, mentor and inspiration to me. I will always be grateful. My deepest condolences go out to the Daniels family, friends and fans.”

Dolly Parton mentioned his hit song “Devil Went Down to Georgia” in her tribute. She said, “Well, the devil went down to Georgia, but Charlie went straight to heaven. My heart, like many millions of others, is broken today to find out that we’ve lost our dear friend Charlie Daniels.”

Randy Travis shared a touching video of Charlie giving him a pep talk and praying with him. He wrote, “@CharlieDaniels was one of the finest gentlemen I have ever known. We laughed, cried and prayed together. Charlie, thank you for everything you’ve done for me, your endless support of us, you will live on forever as my hero… my friend. I love you.”

Trisha Yearwood shared a photo of herself, husband Garth Brooks, Charlie, and others. She said, “I grew up on the CDB, and I know I’m blessed to call Charlie and Hazel friends. Love and strength to this family. The world mourns with you. RIP Charlie. xoxo #charliedaniels”

There were many, many more tributes by artists, friends, and fans alike. It truly shows how much Charlie impacted not only the music industry but those around him. He seems like he was a truly great man. RIP.
