December wouldn’t be December without the yearly run of Christmas television specials. It’s a timeless tale about self acceptance, and that being yourself is always the best option—-it’s okay to be a misfit. Rudolph learns that after a few adventures: running into an elf who’s an aspiring dentist, meeting the miner Yukon Cornelius, visiting the Island of Misfit Toys, and facing the Abominable Snowman. And with his nose so bright, he was finally able to guide Santa’s sleigh that night. The program has everything a Christmas special needs. It has the family fun adventure, the classic holiday songs, and of course Santa Claus.
