Wagner’s performance earned her an Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series in 1977, while Jaime became an important early example of a female television action hero. She Had Unexpected Connections to Dating Shows and Van Halen (Everett Collection) Before achieving television fame, Wagner appeared as the bachelorette on The Dating Game in 1969. One of the contestants was Gunsmoke actor Roger Ewing, although Wagner ultimately selected a teacher instead. The appearance came several years before producer Kenneth Johnson reportedly noticed her performance on The Rockford Files and considered her for the role of Jaime Sommers. Her son, Dorian Kingi, later continued the family’s connection to science fiction by working as a stunt performer and creature actor on productions such as The Book of Boba Fett and Stranger Things, where he helped portray the Demogorgon creatures. (Everett Collection) Wagner also had an unusual connection to Van Halen. During the early 1980s, she lived next door to Eddie Van Halen and Valerie Bertinelli while the guitarist worked in a recording studio behind his home. The noise reportedly became so disruptive that Wagner moved, after which Van Halen purchased her house. Years earlier, the band had also rehearsed in the basement of a mansion while Wagner filmed a Bionic Woman episode upstairs. Beyond acting, Wagner has dedicated time to wellness, personal growth, and mental health advocacy, making Lindsay Wagner's birthday a celebration of both her television legacy and her continued influence across generations.
