Pamela Bach-Hasselhoff was a great cheerleader to her friends. However, the actress was found dead in her Los Angeles home on March 5 at the age of 61, and her family and close friends are remembering her. Dateline’s Andrea Canning also recently shared her memories of the late actress in an interview.
Andrea Canning was a former nanny to Pamela Bach-Hasselhoff’s family, where they became friends. They first met in 1995 when Canning interned at Baywatch before working closely with Pamela, and their relationship of three decades began. Meanwhile, Pamela’s influence has affected Canning positively over the years, and she often talks about her.

Pamela Bach Hasselhoff’s radiant presence was easily noticeable by those close to her. She was energetic and outgoing, and her enthusiasm could instantly brighten a room. Andrea Canning also recalled that Pamela loved engaging with others, had a boisterous laugh, and could make even strangers feel welcome.
Even in difficult times, Pamela Bach Hasselhoff maintained her confidence while facing personal issues that many did not see. In 2003, she was involved in a motorcycle accident that left her with severe injuries, including a broken neck and back. Over time, this led to chronic pain, arthritis, and declining health. Andrea noted that Pamela was leaning on a cane the last time they saw each other.
Financial instability
Pamela Bach Hasselhoff also had financial problems after her motorcycle accident. At the time, most of her conversations with Andrea Canning were centered around her financial instability and her lack of a plan to get out of it. She was often worried about how she would make ends meet and feared losing her home.
However, Andrea Canning noted that Pamela’s kindness grew stronger. She would send heartfelt messages to Canning and make efforts to stay connected. When Pamela exchanged Christmas cards with her, Canning respected her strength and courage to still be there for others when needed. After her death was officially announced as a suicide by the Los Angeles medical examiners, it became clear that Pamela was suffering silently without anyone knowing – including her friends. On Saturday, Andrea Canning posted a tribute to her friend on Instagram.
