Dick Van Dyke and Chris Martin made a joint appearance on last week’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live to promote the latter’s music video for “All My Love.” 99-year-old Van Dyke stars in the visuals alongside his son Barry.
As they attempted to settle down for the show, Van Dyke missed his steps and nearly fell, but Chris ran to his aid just in time to hold him up. Coldplay’s Chris Martin joked about Van Dyke’s graceful stumble during the show. They both discussed their experience working together on the new music, and not without some humor.

At 99, Van Dyke is still making new appearances and has no plans to retire with new career goals in sight. Coldplay’s Chris Martin recalled a few admirable moments on the set, including watching Van Dyke and Barry be father and son, despite both being in old age.
Van Dyke joked that he was old enough to be US president Joe Biden’s father. PEOPLE reports that Chris’ music video was filmed in Van Dyke’s Malibu home, where the singer-songwriter plays the piano and sings to Van Dyke’s dancing.

“All My Love” is said to be a love letter to Van Dyke, with the visuals featuring highlights of his seven-decade career, such as his appearances in Mary Poppins, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and The Dick Van Dyke Show. The director’s cut of the Spike Jonze and Mary Wigmore-directed film is set for release on December 13, which is Van Dyke’s 99th birthday.
Fans have reacted to the heartfelt music video on Coldplay’s official YouTube channel, showing Van Dyke in a cream-colored pin-stripped suit and a light blue shirt, singing along with Chris. “99+ years old and dancing barefooted. I don’t think it gets any better than that,” someone said of Van Dyke’s performance.
