Eric Clapton took some much-needed family time out in Corsica, France, where they went on yacht cruises and soaked up the sun in their swimwear. His wife, Melia McEnery, and their daughters, Julie Rose, Ella May, Sophie Belle, and Clapton’s oldest child, Ruth, all strutted the beach and had a fun time during the trip.
Eric in particular blew fans away with his attractive physique at 79, which he flaunted while wearing blue lace-up shorts, a statement silver necklace, and a pair of dark sunshades. His short gray hair mostly fell into a natural side part and looked healthy for a man his age.

Eric’s struggle with addiction and grief
In his younger years, Eric was addicted to alcohol, heroin, and cocaine, for which he even did a music cover of in the late ‘70s. After the loss of his only son, Eric was forced to remain clear of his vices and live responsibly despite wanting to relapse and numb his feelings. He dealt with his pain through music instead, releasing “Tears in Heaven” and “My Father’s Eyes” as a tribute to his late child.
Despite past attempts to retire, Eric has yet to stop touring or traveling the world for gigs, noting that his definition of retirement is not quitting work but opting for comfort. Eric explained that he loves a challenge and cannot help but see what he can do better than the last, hence his reason for remaining in the spotlight.
